Hi, I am Kanchi from India. I am starting the full time IMC program this september. Northwestern seems like a fantastic university and Medill promises to be a great school.

I was hoping some current international student could help me out regarding the program, stay, fees etc. Though all this info is available on the school website, I would love to get a student’s view on the same.
Any future IMCers joining in sep? would love to make some friends before joining.
Thanx guys..

I am interested in joining IMC in the fall. I know I am late but I believe they are still accepting applications. How important are GRE scores? How important is previous work experience? How far is Medill from down town chi town?

hi, I am an advertising professional from India. I am currently heading the Bangalore operations of DRAFTFCB, as VP. I am 42 and interested in pursuing the IMC course. If I do, that would perhaps make me the oldest student at IMC, ever! I have gone through the curriculum and feel that despite my years of professional experience, the course has something to teach me and I would benefit from it immensely. I would like your comments on the course on its relevance for people with considerable work experience. Many thanks.

Hi there. I was just wondering if it was too late to sign up for an IMC mentor, and how I could go about doing so if it was possible. Thanks so much, and I’m really looking forward to joining the program in the fall!

I am very interested in the IMC program at Medill. I am currently a rising senior at Howard University majoring in Advertising and minoring in Graphic Design. My future goals are to be involved in advertising, communicating visually with text, color, and images, presenting information or promoting a message. I possess strong analytical skills and with the knowledge gained in school these past couple years I know advertising. I feel that it’s something I’m skilled at, and the opportunity for advancement is something that I strive for. With that being said, what criteria should I be working towards to ensure acceptance into the program? I want to get an early start on the application process being that Medill is my number one choice on my list of prospective graduate schools. Any help toward my goals are greatly appreciated, and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Best regards,

Jeremy Williams

Hi,
This is an amazingly useful Blog. I’m from India, and looking forward to joining the IMC program this fall. I have dabbled in the field of media and communications for 6 years now until i decided to go back to reinventing the wheel. So here i am thrilled at the prospect of joining such an amazing program.
I have many questions relating to this program, and was hoping to understand how the classes are divided up per quarter, and the duration of classes. Also for someone like me who is intimidated by numbers are there tutorials on campus that one can take up? Also does one get a list of text books that we need to purchase or do we get it on joining in Sept?
Thanks

I’m an incoming IMC student and I haven’t been contacted by a mentor yet. A current student e-mailed me from the Admissions Committee right after I was accepted to answer any questions I might have. I’ve been in touch with her since then. Is she my mentor or has someone else been assigned to me? Thanks!

Noreen,
There are a number of students who live in downtown Chicago. You can do it without a car. The key, however, is to live near a train stop (map available at: http://www.transitchicago.com). There is also an intercampus shuttle that leaves from the Northwestern Univ. Chicago campus on Chicago Ave. and goes to “the arch” at the Northwestern Evanston campus. The arch is just a short walk to MTC and Fisk, where classes are held.

The orientation information is listed at the top of this page.
I hope this helps!
